Tecumseh was born in 1768 in the Ohio Country. He was a skilled warrior and a gifted orator. He believed that Native Americans should unite to resist American expansion. His brother, the Prophet, was a religious leader who preached a message of resistance and renewal. He believed that the Native Americans had lost their way and needed to return to their traditional values.

In 1805, Tecumseh and the Prophet founded a new settlement at Prophetstown, Indiana. The settlement quickly became a center of Native American resistance. Tecumseh and the Prophet formed an alliance with other Native American tribes, including the Kickapoo, Potawatomi, and Wyandot. They hoped to create a confederacy of tribes that could resist American expansion.

In 1811, Tecumseh and the Prophet's alliance was defeated by William Henry Harrison at the Battle of Tippecanoe. Tecumseh was killed in battle. The Prophet survived, but his power was broken. The Battle of Tippecanoe marked the end of Native American resistance in the Ohio Country.

Tecumseh and the Prophet were important figures in Native American history. They were brave leaders who fought to protect their land and their way of life. Their story is a reminder of the resilience of the Native American people.
